What do we mean by integration?
Getting the information IN, OUT and in the right places
In our experience there are a multitude of pieces of information that you need to assemble when you want to start processing your data. Just think how much effort it is to actually just get going without even starting to review your analytical results...
An example scenario
Where is my data?, Arghh need to do Menu / File / Open and then browse to where the raw data is... Now you have to add the formula information which is stored in your corporate structure repository, or maybe this is an Excel file that again you have to go find.... Then you have to transpose the formula into the appropriate places in the sample list... and so on...
Now your actual workflow maybe a little different but, consider the steps you typically have to go through and ask yourself "Are many of them actually necessary and do they only serve to add an additional burden to your work?"
Integration as a potential solution
What of the steps could theoretically be replaced by some form of automation or integration to go and automatically read all the required pieces of information and write them in the appropriate places?
This is where our integration services can be applied to ensure that when you open and start processing, you actually use the minimum number of steps to achieve the end result that you are looking for. This may even mean that you adopt our server side automated processing that deals with the raw data, conversion and processing as the data is acquired by your instruments.
Indeed so far we have only considered the how you get information into your processing environment. The same goes for how information can be output as well, whether it is a report that needs to find it's way into your ELN or LIMS system or results that need to be updated into a corporate database somewhere. These are all aspects of the integration services and expertise that we are able to provide.
Additional Information
Is it possible to extract formulae and other meta data from the corporate structure database using the supplied structure cartridge?
Yes
Using the toolbox or communications services provided by the original software vendor and writing the appropriate integrations code to connect the two environments.
Is it possible to get information from more than one place?
Yes
Any number of input locations can be integrated in theory, though in practice this is typically no more than one or two different sources.
